- Similarweb's pricing text says that to switch from monthly to yearly billing you email its support team.

What changes the real price
Similarweb lists few add-ons on its self-serve pricing text. These are the ones that affect the bill, and what we couldn't see.
Longer history
Price not shown to us
Web Intelligence lets you add up to 37 months of historical data to a plan. The plans themselves include 3 or 6 months.
Extra user seats
Ask sales
Self-serve plans include one seat. Similarweb's help article says how many users you can add depends on your package, and pending invitations count against your total.
Data credits, API and exports
Included in most plans; amounts vary
Credits are used by data exports, the REST and Batch APIs and MCP requests. Admins can cap each user's monthly use.

Free plan, trial, refunds and cancelling
- Free option
- Similarweb has free tools with limited results, among them its Website Traffic Checker, a browser extension and a keyword generator, and a freemium account that students can sign up for. The paid platform has no free plan, only the trial.
- Free trial
- 7 days. A card is required: Similarweb charges it automatically when the trial ends, and you pay nothing if you cancel before. Trial use is limited to 15 actions a day. An email address tied to an existing or deleted Similarweb account can't start another trial, and a trial can't be switched to a different product type once it starts.
- Refunds
- None. As search results quote Similarweb's terms, payment obligations are non-cancelable and fees paid are non-refundable: cancel mid-term and you aren't refunded, and downgrading doesn't earn a cash refund.
- Cancelling
- You can cancel any time in Account Settings (Subscription Information, then Cancel Plan). The plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then ends.
- Billing
- Monthly or yearly. The pricing text says to email support@similarweb.com to switch to yearly billing.
Is Similarweb worth it for a startup or small business?
Our read: Worth it only if you need all-channel traffic estimates for sites you don't own: sizing a market, sales research, investor diligence, or tracking competitors across direct, referral, social and search. For a startup's own SEO it's the wrong first purchase.
Worth paying for if
- You must compare competitors across every channel, not only Google. Ranking-based tools can't see direct, referral or social traffic.
- Several roles (strategy, sales, growth) will use the data. Plan for more than one seat: each self-serve plan includes just one.
- You want AI-answer tracking beside traffic data. The $333 plan adds 150 tracked prompts and SEO tools, and the AEO plan alone is $99 billed yearly.
Skip it, or wait, if
- You want your own traffic. Search Console and your analytics count real visits; Similarweb's number is a model.
- Your competitors are small. Similarweb's help center says it shows no data when a site's latest month is under 5,000 visits.
- You want a safety net. Fees are non-refundable and the trial is capped at 15 actions a day.
What it costs in practice: One person on Competitive Intelligence pays $199 a month, or $1,500 up front for the year ($125 a month). The plan with SEO and AI tracking is $399 a month, or $3,996 for a year billed yearly. A second seat isn't priced in the text we could read.

Other plans to price it against
Vendor prices read on the same day, from each vendor’s own pages.
$129/mo ($107.50 billed yearly). It estimates search traffic, not total visits, and comes with backlink and keyword research. Ahrefs Free covers sites you own.
$129/mo ($103.20 billed yearly), search traffic only, with a 14-day free trial and no card.
Lists total traffic and channel mix, but at $289/mo billed annually it costs more than Similarweb's $125 plan.

LaunchRanked Autopilot, for AI-answer tracking only
Not a traffic estimator. The overlap is AI-answer tracking: Autopilot ($49/mo at the founding price for the first 100 customers, then $99/mo) checks 25 prompts about your own site across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, while Similarweb's AEO plan tracks 150 and adds sentiment, citation analysis and AI traffic. We sell Autopilot, so weigh this accordingly.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Similarweb cost?
As of 8 October 2026, Similarweb's self-serve plans are Competitive Intelligence at $125 a month billed yearly ($199 monthly), Competitive Intel & SEO & AEO at $333 ($399 monthly) and the same with Ads at $542 ($649 monthly). AEO Intelligence, for AI-answer tracking only, is $99 billed yearly ($129 monthly). Business and enterprise plans are custom. We read these through searches restricted to similarweb.com, not the pricing page itself.
Is Similarweb free? Is there a free trial?
It has free tools with limited results, such as its Website Traffic Checker, a browser extension and a keyword generator. The paid platform has a 7-day free trial that needs a card, is limited to 15 actions a day and bills automatically when it ends unless you cancel before.
Does Similarweb give refunds?
No. Similarweb's terms say fees paid are non-refundable: if you cancel during your subscription term you aren't refunded, and downgrading earns no cash refund. Cancelling keeps the plan active until the end of the period you've paid for.
How many users does a Similarweb plan include?
One seat on each self-serve plan. We couldn't find a price for extra seats in the text we could read. Similarweb's help center says the number of users you can add depends on your package, and pending invitations count against it.
Is Similarweb worth it for a small business or startup?
Rarely as a first purchase. It's strongest for all-channel traffic estimates on sites you don't own, which suits market sizing and sales research more than a young site's SEO. For your own traffic, Search Console and your analytics are exact. Its estimates are weakest on small sites: the platform shows no data below 5,000 monthly visits.
Is there a cheaper or free alternative to Similarweb?
For search traffic only, yes: our website traffic checker is free, and Ahrefs Lite and SE Ranking Core are $129 a month with keyword research included. None of them sees direct, referral or social traffic the way Similarweb models it. Semrush's Traffic & Market toolkit does list channel mix, at $289 a month billed annually.
