What the check does
We read your homepage and write four questions a potential customer would type into an AI assistant while choosing a product like yours. None of them contain your brand name: the point is whether the assistant brings you up on its own. Then we ask each question to Perplexity and to Google Gemini with web search turned on, the way Autopilot does, and read every answer.
What the report shows
- Names you. The answer mentions your brand or your domain.
- Links to your site. One of the pages the answer cites is on your domain.
- Named instead. The companies and products the answers recommended, and how many answers named each one.
You also get every answer in full, with its sources, so you can see which pages the engines read before answering.
Why Perplexity and Gemini
Every answer runs a live web search, and that costs money, so the free check uses the two engines the Autopilot free trial tracks. Autopilot asks 25 questions every two weeks instead of 4 once, and the paid plan adds ChatGPT and Claude.
How to read the result
AI answers change between runs, days and people, so one check is a sample. If you aren’t named, look at the sources the answers cite: those are the pages the engines trust for your category. Getting listed or mentioned on them, and publishing pages that answer these questions directly, is how brands start to show up. Make sure AI crawlers can reach your pages with the GEO checker and the AI crawler checker.
