How to use it
- Paste the title and say what the video covers, in the order it covers it.
- Add one or two main keywords, the words someone would search to find the video.
- If you have chapters, paste them one per line, like “0:00 Intro”. We check them against YouTube’s rules and add them exactly as you wrote them.
- Add your links one per line, label first. They’re added as typed; the model never writes a link.
- Pick a call to action and how many hashtags you want, then edit the version you prefer.
YouTube’s description rules
| What | Rule | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Description length | 5,000 characters. YouTube's API counts 5,000 bytes. | YouTube Help: Upload videos YouTube Data API: videos |
| Characters | No < or > | YouTube Data API: videos |
| First lines | YouTube suggests using the first few lines to describe the video, because they're what viewers see first | YouTube Help: Tips for video descriptions |
| Chapters | First timestamp at 00:00, at least 3, in ascending order, each at least 10 seconds long | YouTube Help: Video chapters |
| Hashtags | Up to 3 show by the title. With more than 60, YouTube ignores them all. | YouTube Help: Hashtags |

What goes where
- The opening. One or two sentences on what the viewer will learn or see. It’s the part shown before “more”, so it has to work on its own.
- The details. What the video covers, in order, in plain sentences that use your keywords where they fit. YouTube’s tips also ask for a different description on every video, so don’t reuse one.
- Chapters, then links, then hashtags. Chapters let viewers jump to the part they need; links go where people expect them; up to 3 hashtags close it.

Honest limits
The model hasn’t watched the video. It writes from your title and summary, and we flag sentences that may say something you didn’t tell us. It has no YouTube search data, so it can’t tell you which keywords get searched. For the title itself, use the YouTube title generator.
