How to use it
- Describe what you’re advertising and who it’s for.
- Add the main reason to click, and an offer or proof only if it’s true. The generator won’t invent discounts, deadlines or numbers, so whatever you leave out stays out.
- Pick the button you’ll use in Ads Manager. The primary text is written to lead into it.
- Paste a few primary texts, headlines and descriptions into your ad and let the results tell you which work.

These are Meta’s recommendations for the Facebook Feed, not hard caps. We hold primary text to 150 characters and headlines to 27. Meta lists no description length for single-image ads, so we set our own cap of 30.
Writing ad copy that passes review
- Lead with what the product does for the reader. “Take preorders on Instagram and bake only what’s sold” beats a slogan.
- Use “you” without a personal attribute. Meta’s policy allows “you” language as long as it doesn’t imply something about the reader’s health, money or identity.
- Only claims you can back up. No “#1”, no made-up urgency, no prices you don’t charge.
- Send people to the right page. Check the landing page with the landing page grader and tag the URL with the UTM builder.
Honest limits
We check length and flag primary text that may state something you didn’t give us. We can’t run Meta’s ad review, and we can’t predict which version will perform. Running search ads too? The Google Ads copy generator writes to Google’s 30 and 90-character limits.
