About Yap
Yap is voice dictation for Mac and Windows. Hold a shortcut, speak, and let go: Yap turns your speech into clean, punctuated text and types it into the app you are using, from email and docs to chat, terminals and editors. Developers use it to talk to their coding agent: hold a key, speak, and Yap types your prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, the terminal or any editor. Speech recognition runs on your Mac or PC, so recordings are never uploaded. Works offline, detects 25 languages automatically, and keeps a searchable local history. Free for 3 days from first launch with no account or card, then a 10-day trial, then USD 6.90 a month or USD 69 a year. One subscription covers Mac (Apple Silicon, macOS 13+) and Windows 10 and 11.
