Press kit checklist for a launch

A press kit is a public page (or folder) where writers, editors and directory reviewers grab what they need without emailing you. Put it at a stable URL like /press and link it from every pitch. This checklist includes the image sizes the major launch boards and stores ask for, so one set of assets covers most uses.

Use it for

  • Before any pitch or launch.
  • When directories or partners ask for assets.
  • When a writer covers you and needs a logo in an hour.

Limits and rules

  • Product Hunt gallery images: 1270×760 recommended, at least two; thumbnail 240×240.[1]
  • GitHub social preview: 1280×640 for best display, under 1 MB.[2]

The template

Copy it, then replace everything in [BRACKETS]. Delete lines that don't apply rather than leaving them vague.

How to fill it in

  1. [YOURSITE]/press

A stable, public URL. Don't gate it behind a form.

  2. Fact sheet

Only facts you'd stand behind in print.

  3. Press email

An address that goes to a person.

Filled example

Fictional example. Paperlark is a fictional product we made up for these examples: an invoice-reminder tool for freelancers that sends polite follow-ups when a client pays late. Names, prices and details are invented to show the template filled in; they aren't a real company or real results.
