Where to submit an AI writing tool: 101 directories

AI writing tools are the most crowded corner of every AI directory. Editors and visitors have seen hundreds of “write blog posts with AI” listings, so a generic pitch gets filed and forgotten. What gets clicks is a narrow job said plainly: product descriptions for Shopify stores, cold emails in your own voice, grant applications, legal summaries. Most general AI directories file you under a Writing or Copywriting category, and a few lists focus on writing and content tools only. Expect a trickle of visitors from each listing rather than a spike, and expect the directories with manual review to ask what makes you different from the big general-purpose assistants. Have a real before-and-after sample ready, one that shows a draft your tool improved, because that is what readers use to compare tools in this category.

The other 81, in the same order

One line each. Open a directory for its price details, link evidence, review process and how to submit.

DR is Domain Rating by Ahrefs: a 0–100 score of a site’s backlinks, higher is stronger. It isn’t a Google metric. Tranco rank is a research top-sites ranking: lower means more popular. How we check each directory

How to prioritise

  1. Writing-specific lists first: their visitors are already looking for a writing tool, not browsing AI in general.
  2. Then the largest general AI directories by Tranco rank, choosing the narrowest writing sub-category they offer.
  3. Directories that show a free plan or trial badge, if you have one: writing tools are compared on price very quickly.
  4. Leave pay-to-list directories with no Tranco rank until last.

Questions about this list

Should I describe my tool as an AI writer or by the job it does?

By the job. “AI writer” describes hundreds of listings. “Writes Amazon product descriptions from a spreadsheet” tells a visitor in one line whether it’s for them, and it’s the phrase they typed into the directory’s search.

Do AI directories accept tools built on ChatGPT or Claude?

Generally yes. Most directories list products by what they do, not by which model runs underneath. Say which models you use only if you say so publicly elsewhere, and focus the listing on what your tool adds: workflow, templates, integrations or tone control.

What sample should I include in a writing tool listing?

One short, real before-and-after: the input a user gives and the output your tool returns. Keep it to a few lines so it fits in a screenshot. Don’t cherry-pick a result your tool rarely produces; reviewers and users will try it.

Which of these directories give a dofollow link?

60 of the 101 had a followed (dofollow) listing link when we checked: There's An AI For That, Toolify, OpenTools, Dang.ai, MCP Market, Awesome MCP Servers (mcpservers.org) and 54 more. Directories change their link policy, so check your own listing once it is live.
