Same checklist, two pages
Enter your page and a competitor’s. We fetch both the way a crawler does and score each on the same 16 weighted checks as the website SEO checker: indexability, title, description, H1, canonical, text in the HTML, structured data, alt text, internal links, social tags, HTTPS, viewport, language, redirects and response time. The side-by-side table shows where each page earns or loses points.
Below that, the raw numbers: main content word count, unique internal links, links out to other sites, images missing alt text, JSON-LD types, response time and HTML weight. Green marks the stronger value where the direction is clear.
Domain Rating by Ahrefs
When the Ahrefs connection is available, each side also shows the domain’s Domain Rating from Ahrefs’ free API. It’s the best quick proxy for the thing on-page checks can’t see: how many sites link to the domain, and how strong they are. A 20-point DR gap usually explains more of a ranking gap than every on-page row combined. If DR isn’t available right now, the tool says so and the comparison still runs.
Reading the gaps
- They have far more words. They probably answer more of the searcher’s follow-up questions. Look at their H2s, not their word count.
- They have structured data you don’t. FAQPage, Product or SoftwareApplication markup is cheap to add; the schema markup generator writes it.
- Their server answers much faster. Re-run once; a single slow response can be noise.
- Everything is close but they rank higher. The difference is probably off the page: links, brand and how long they’ve been around. Check who links to them with a backlink tool.
