Free prompt · 5–15 minutes of agent time
Launch your product on LaunchRanked from your coding agent
Writes your launch from your own code and docs, adds the LaunchRanked badge if you say yes, and hands you a filled-in launch form to check and submit.
Works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf and GitHub Copilot's agent mode. Updated 2026-11-05.
Step 1
Paste this line into your coding agent
Open your repo in the agent first. It fetches the full prompt from this page’s .md file and shows you a plan before writing any code.
Fetch https://launchranked.com/prompts/launch-on-launchranked.md and carry out the prompt in its "Prompt" section on this repo. Show me your plan before writing code.

# Task: launch this product on LaunchRanked LaunchRanked (https://launchranked.com) is a weekly launch board for startups. I want to launch this product there. You write the launch from what's in this repo; I check it and submit it myself. ## 1. Read the product From the code, README, docs, landing page copy and the live site, find: the product's name, its public URL, what it does, who it's for, what makes it different, how it charges (free, freemium, paid or open source), and the closest category from this list: AI tools, AI video, Developer tools, Marketing, SEO, Productivity, Design, Analytics, Sales, Finance, Education, Writing, No-code, Ecommerce, Other. Ask me for anything you can't find, and for my name as it should show on the launch (my X handle is optional). ## 2. Write the launch - Name: as on the site (max 60 characters). - Tagline: one line on what it does and for whom (max 80 characters). No hype words. - Description: what it does, who it's for and what's different, in plain sentences (40–1000 characters). - Optional, shown on the launch page: Why did you build it? Who is it for? What's next? Ask me for these; don't invent my story. - Plan: free, unless I ask for Boost or Featured (paid, any week, live once paid). Only facts from the repo, the site or me. Show me all of it and wait for my OK. ## 3. The badge (only if I say yes) Ask me whether to add the LaunchRanked badge. With it on my homepage, my launch page's link to my site is followed; without it, that link is nofollow. If I say yes, put this in the footer every page shares, in the HTML the server sends, with <host> replaced by my site's bare domain (no https://, no www.): ~~~html <a href="https://launchranked.com/products/site/<host>" target="_blank"><img src="https://launchranked.com/badge/site/<host>?theme=light" alt="Launched on LaunchRanked" width="236" height="54" /></a> ~~~ Use theme=dark on a dark footer. Keep the link exactly as it is: no rel="nofollow", "sponsored" or "ugc". Then ask me before you commit or deploy. ## 4. Hand it to me - If LaunchRanked's MCP server is connected (you have tools named launch_product, get_launch_badge and verify_launch_badge): once the badge is live, run verify_launch_badge, then launch_product with the launch from step 2 (badge_added: true if the badge was found). Give me the link it returns. - If it isn't: give me https://launchranked.com/launch?url=<my site> and the fields from step 2, ready to paste. Tell me I can connect the MCP server for next time: https://launchranked.com/docs/mcp. Never submit the launch form yourself. I finish it: sign in, back 3 of this week's launches if it's a free launch, answer the badge question, pick the week and submit. ## Rules for this task - Plan first: show me what you found and the launch you wrote, and wait for my OK. - The only change to my code is the badge, and only after I say yes. Don't change how any page looks beyond it. - Never invent facts: no made-up numbers, customers, reviews or features. If something isn't in the code or data, ask me. - Don't commit, push or deploy without asking me.
Step 2
After you deploy: check it from your terminal
curl -s https://YOURSITE/ | grep -o 'launchranked.com/products/site/[a-z0-9.-]*' # the badge link is in the HTML

FAQ
Questions about this prompt
Does the agent submit the launch for me?
No. It writes the launch and, with LaunchRanked's MCP server connected, saves it as a draft and gives you a link. You open the form with everything filled in, check it and submit it. A free launch also asks you to back 3 of this week's launches first: upvote each one and open its site.
Do I have to add the badge?
No. The launch form asks every maker, and Not now is a fine answer. With the badge verified on your homepage, your launch page's link to your site is followed; without it, that link is nofollow. The prompt only adds the badge after you say yes.
Can my agent sign in to LaunchRanked?
With the MCP server, you sign in once when you connect it, and the agent acts for your account. In a browser, the sign-in email has a link and a 6-digit code, so a browser agent can type the code.
